Old Fort is home to the state run museum exhibiting mountain lifestyle and pioneer-era history from the earliest inhabitants to the twentieth century. Summer muse programs, festivals and a variety of other activities are held here and at the outdoor, amphitheater on Mill Creek.

Exhibits include handmade musical instruments and artifacts used during the expansion of the railroad.
