Birding for Beginners

Short presentation followed by a hike to the Lake Channel Overlook.  Hear helpful bird-watching tips for beginners and head out on the trail to look for birds of the woods, predators of the air, and shoreline stalkers.  This is a moderate-level hike of approximately 1.5 miles.  Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear.  Meet at the park office at 1:00 p.m., free.  Lake James State Park is located in Marion.  For more information, call 828-652-5047.
